End mill router bits for (stainless) steel: Two straight
flutes, tungsten carbide.
Very short and rigid ("stocky") cutting edges with small
radial relief lead to high stiffness and stability and little
vibrations. As there is no spiral twist the tool has no tendency to
lift up the material. Therefore it is especially suitable for
routing thin metal
sheets.
Beneficial feature: The 45°
chamfer
between the
straight
cutting edges
and the shank
is also
relieved, what
means that you
can cut also with
this section.
You might use
this
capability to
cut a chamfer
or to deburr
your workpiece
in the same
pass or in a
second
operation.
All common
coatings are
available. For
milling steel
TiAlN coating
is
recommended.
